"Rory Gallagher: Blues of Taste"

Another portrait of my favourite musician, showing him in the early 1970's during the days of his band "Taste".

On this picture, he plays his battered-looking Fender Stratocaster which became his trademark.

Painted in dark indigo watercolours with lots of masking liquid used.

Noch ein Portrait von meinem Lieblingsmusiker, das ihn in den frühen 1970ern zeigt, zu der Zeit, als er noch mit seiner Band "Taste" spielte.

Auf diesem Bild spielt er seine etwas mitgenommen aussehenden Fender Stratocaster, die zu seinem Markenzeichen wurde.

Gemalt in dunkel-indigo Aquarellfarbe, wobei ich auch viel Maskierflüssigkeit benutzt habe.

Ein Portrait von meinem Lieblingsmusiker, das ihn in den frühen 1970ern zeigt, zu der Zeit, als er noch mit seiner Band "Taste" spielte.

Auf diesem Bild spielt er eine Fender Telecaster anstelle seiner etwas mitgenommen aussehenden Fender Stratocaster, die zu seinem Markenzeichen wurde.

Gemalt in grüner Aquarellfarbe, wobei ich auch viel Maskierflüssigkeit benutzt habe.

Jelka and I listened to the Stray Cats debut LP many times when we were kids, but somehow we neglected the band later until we became big fans in 2013.

Jelka und ich haben die Debüt-Platte der Stray Cats als Kinder sehr oft gehört, aber irgendwie haben wir die Band später vernachlässigt, bis wir 2013 große Fans wurden.

Inspired by the great Stray Cats reunion concert “Rumble In Brixton” (2004). When Brian Setzer played “Sleepwalk” in blue light, I immediately thought: Wow, I’ve got to paint this!

The main inspiration was one of my favourite photos with all of them looking serious and without their instruments and drum sticks, respectively, so I went through my “Beatles Album” and created a picture of my own.

Als Haupt-Inspiration diente eines meiner Lieblingsfotos, auf dem alle vier ernst drein gucken und keine Instrumente bzw. Drumsticks in den Händen halten, also durchforstete ich mein „Beatles-Album“ und zeichnete ein eigenes Motiv.
